A Helping Hand

these few days, been back to SP. n meeting up wif Hr a couple of time.. feel kinda relieve toking to someone going thru the same phase of life :).. why i like sp so much always go back? niah.. haha. i go back to help my juniors :), the nxt tulipa grp doing similar research as wat we did. when we started doing PTC n hydroponics, we were noobs, din noe much, especially PTC (Plant Tissue Culture). but dr sim was there to help us, teach us surface sterilisation, aseptic technique, and many many techniques. now i realise wifout her we are NOTHING, becoz lking at wat the junior are doing, sometings really need to be taught and cant juz lk up in bks. becoz this time dr sim is pregnant, and she cant go to sch. SP now is having semestral break, the best time to do FYP, if juniors did not have any help i tink they will definately panic at last min, wif 100 percent contamintation wifout noeing why. haha.

So here comes the part me n HR save the day, we went down like 3 days to teach dem techniques. Practical aspect, identify their problem, and hope to get dem back on track. wifout a supervisor at such a early stage is really very jialat, i try to put myself in their shoes, i tink i will lose interest n get fed up if no one is there to teach the proper way. Imagine 100 percent contamination all the way.

Last fri n yestadae taught dem hydroponics, todae was PTC, quite alot of tings to impart.. selecting bulbs, surface sterilisation, cutting n culturing.. three of dem, during the surface sterilisation, i smack my head like countless time, i hope they dun get frastrated wif me, haha.. they juz cant kick the "cross over" habit. becoz bottle cap or aluminium foil is sterile, crossing over it wif ur hands is a NONO.. but they seems to keep forgeting the positions of the bottle caps.. the worst is touching the opening wif ur hands.. suppose to be sterile!! touch = nonsterile.. Pengz.. hee.. okie lah.. they are forgiveable, considering they dun have much experiance... the cutting was okie, i did once, and they suddenly realise u can push the bottle cap to back to prevent crossing over! (becoz i demo) they pick up quite fast , the cutting part, after i corrected some mistake, i took off.. came home.. hee. my family is coming back soon, abit sian. abit get use to life wif me n my bro only.
